Here’s the idea:
In the past people have written cool software/algorithms/paradigms, but the time wasn’t ready for them and they where lost.
Software development is all about the bleeding edge. The concept behind “Technology Archaeology” is to list interesting ideas, OLD ideas, that we have forgotten about.
the goldylocks zone
Hypothesis: If we go 10, 20, or N years back in time, we find a gold mine of brilliant ideas that could not be realized in that time. We’ll backcrawl through ideas that can be implemented today.
The no-go analysis
Hypothesis: Looking at a particular idea from the past, something made it a “no-go” at the time. What was it? We can analyze why it did not become a success and whether the circumstances have changed. Has something changed? Is the world ready now?
